Why Astro

My last portfolio was Next.js. This site is mostly content I collect and write (a build log, saved videos, saved articles, case studies), so I wanted something built for content. Astro ships almost no JavaScript, and every collection is typed, so a missing field breaks the build instead of the page.

How it’s built

  • Content collections: projects, videos and articles are small Markdown files with checked fields.
  • Design: a charcoal and signal-red palette with light and dark modes.
  • Working with Claude Code: I made the decisions (stack, structure, voice, what to show and hide) and used Claude Code to plan, write and check the code.
